Hey Besties, I’m Back!
Snack Bestie is back and officially on schedule!

Your friendly neighborhood snack enthusiast has officially returned to the blog—and honestly, I’ve missed you all! The past few months threw some wild curveballs my way: I turned 34 (who is time? I don’t know her), my site crashed at the absolute worst time (because–of course), and I realized I seriously needed a reset.

But you know what? That downtime gave me a chance to recharge and organize the blog. I dusted off some older posts, added a few new pieces, and I’m SO happy to report that Wednesday snack dates are officially back on our calendar. Keep that in mind when it’s the middle of the week and you’re craving something new.
A Little Behind-the-Scenes
Taking a break was NOT easy. I’ve always struggled with needing to take a break but after learning more about myself through Human Design (projectors UNITE!), I missed the friendly chaos of our snack-obsessed crew. The time away reminded me that:
Rest fuels creativity.
I didn’t realize how much I needed a breather until I took one. When I stopped pushing, the new ideas started flowing! I have so many cool new things to talk to you all about.
Snacks are best when shared
Every single time I tried something new (good or… not so good, looking at you, Dubai Chocolate Donut), I wished I could spill the details to you all right then and there. I’ve kinda lost my college habit of using social media full time (it’s also super unhealthy) but I’ll be on it more often to show you all the awesome things I find on the regular. So keep an eye out!
If you checked in while I was away—thank you, truly. Your messages made me feel so supported and gave me the nudge I needed to start writing again. Snack Bestie isn’t just MY project, it’s OUR snack-loving community.
What I’ve Been Snacking On
You know I didn’t let my snack game slip while I was on this reset. So much snack “research” has been happening behind the scenes here.. Here’s what’s been making my taste buds happy lately:
Pinkbox Donuts
Pinkbox Donuts taste as extravagant as they look. I’ve had my share of trying multiple flavors over the last few things. During the Dubai Chocolate craze, of course they had to make their own spin on it. I couldn’t resist and had to try it.

Well– the photo wasn’t great and, honestly, neither was the donut. But hey, sometimes you try a wild snack just to say you did it! Don’t worry, I discovered some Pinkbox favorites that are definitely worth a repeat visit. Not in any particular order (because–how would I? Right?)

When Pinkbox gets it right, they really get it right.
Honey Butter Chips
Let me introduce you to my recent obsession! I started with the limited edition Maple Honey Butter Chips, then I learned there was a “regular” honey butter flavor and a Quattro Cheese flavor and decided it called for a mini snack adventure!

Regular: The OG. Sweet, salty, buttery perfection. It’s impossible to eat just a few.
Maple: Cozy, autumn vibes in chip form. A little sweeter; ideal for dessert cravings.
Quattro Cheese: Bold and savory, almost like a chip/cheese puff hybrid. If you love cheesy snacks, you’ll be obsessed.
Each flavor is its own vibe—don’t ask me to pick a favorite!
Sorry Not Sorry Creamery
New life hack: ice cream flights! My son and I shared four mini scoops, each a different flavor. We ended up staging our own taste test, debating over which was best.

Highly recommended—makes dessert into a full-on event! They give you waffle cone chips to use for dipping as well as spoons. We tried Triple Chocolate Chunk (my son loves chocolate), Pistachio brittle (I thought this would be a favorite, but I actually surprisingly didn’t like it), Salted Caramel (for my partner, their favorite), and Ube Honeycomb (which, for me, ended up being the star of the show!). The picture isn’t great, but the flavors definitely exceeded my expectations.
Birthday Snack Adventures
Birthdays are the perfect excuse for snack adventures:

Solo Birthday Date at Tailgate Social
Free birthday cake flavored fried oreos and a side of loaded potato skins to accompany a $29 lobster boil that was so good it felt like a steal on one occasion. I originally went to also get a few of their $1.25 oysters but they were completely sold out by the time I got there at 7:30p (they open at 4p!). I was determined to have them, even if it wasn’t on the day of my birthday.

Luckily the next week that I went I was able to score a few with a very nice drink. I needed a side and I figured a few of their tots would suffice. I was blown out of the water! It was a mountain of crispy, cheesy, bacon-y goodness. More a meal than a snack, but who’s counting?

Family dinner at WSKY
Cozy, no-frills, just me, my son, and my partner enjoying a relaxed meal. Sometimes, snack moments are about the company, not just the food. The little one had a wood fire grilled pizza to eat and save some for later (HUGE slices for a medium). We shared a few appetizers like mini corn dogs with a beer cheese fondue and another style of loaded tator tots. I had ahi tuna nachos with huge chunks of tuna on it and smothered in a cheese cause and green onions. They had a huge portion of chopped cheese fries. It was so much food we definitely had enough to make into left overs for the next day.

We both got a drink we thought we would each like and ended up switching. I love mojitos and grabbed a blackberry mojito while my partner got a spiced apple martini. I’ve never had a martini and when I tried it, I immediately fell in love. The switch was well worth it and I’ve found a new favorite drink when I’m out and about.

For the birthday portion, they brought out their house made doughnut holes with a caramel whisky sauce and a candle. So many little snackable memories tucked into each meal—If you guys would like to see it, I’ll do a full post just on birthday eats!
On another night I chose to go to Bin702 at Downtown Container Park
I couldn’t leave out one of my favorite local spots. I went in on their mini sandwiches called ‘montaditos’. Little crusty toasted baguettes filled with different mixtures of meats, fruits, jams and yummy cheeses. We chose these flavors to try.

- Bresaola, gorgonzola, honey
- Cuban, porchetta, gruyere, mustards, pickle
- Brie, apple, honey, thyme
- Turkey, fig jam, smoked gouda
- Lobster
And of course– a full charcuterie plate:

- Meats: two types of salami and a darker one I can’t remember the name of (I think Bresaola)
- Cheeses: manchego, camembert, and brie
- Add-ons: fig jam (incredible), honey, olives, grainy mustard, and hunks of baguette that tied it all together.
• The fig jam was so good it went well with every cheese on the board. I loved combining the manchego with honey while using the fig jam mostly with the brie. This is the kind of charcuterie board that gives you so many options you can mix and match, that you’ll definitely walk away with a favorite.
